FAQs
Do you really believe in astrology? Isn’t it considered superstition?
Belief in astrology isn’t necessary. When I interpret the symbols on a chart, the client objectively verifies whether the information is true of them or not.
Astrology is a cultural and historical practice that has been studied and used by many people throughout history. Whether or not astrology is a superstition depends on how you define the term “superstition.” Some people may consider any belief or practice that is not based on scientific evidence to be a superstition. In that sense, astrology could be considered a superstition – although increasingly, research into astrology appears to be proving its validity.
If superstition is defined as a belief in supernatural or irrational causality, or a fear of the unknown or unexplainable, then in that sense, astrology isn’t superstition.
Astrology is a highly complex and nuanced subject, and there are many different perspectives and interpretations within the field. However, most astrologers align with the law of correspondence as a fundamental philosophical and spiritual principle at its core. This law states that there is a correspondence between different levels of reality, such as the macrocosm (the universe) and the microcosm (the individual), and that there is interconnectivity between the movements and positions of celestial bodies and the events and experiences of human beings on Earth.
According to the law of correspondence, the planets, stars, and other celestial bodies in our solar system have a symbolic correspondence with different aspects of human life – including personality traits, emotions, and life events. For example, the planet Venus is often associated with love and beauty, while Mars is associated with energy and assertiveness.
I don’t like being categorized by my sun “sign.” I’m not a perfect fit for my sign and that limits me. How can astrology work when it just divides people up into twelve groups?
I don’t blame you; nobody likes to be pigeon-holed. We are each unique people.
A birth (or “natal”) sign is complex, and while the zodiac signs are a central part of it, they’re not the only factor that determines a person’s astrological profile. In addition to your sun sign, which is based on the position of the sun at the time of your birth, there are other planetary placements and aspects that can influence your personality, strengths, and challenges.
Why get a reading from an astrologer? Aren’t those free astrological reports on the internet just as good?
Electronic reports can be fun to read and even surprisingly helpful as a starting point, but they don’t compare to a custom consultation from an experienced astrologer – who can provide a more detailed and personalized understanding of your birth chart.
An astrologer not only provides insights and guidance on how to understand your astrological chart in a practical way, but she can also help you to understand your strengths and challenges, and give you tools and strategies for personal growth and self-awareness.
A reading with an astrologer can be an opportunity for self-reflection and deepening your understanding of yourself and your place in the world.
I’m afraid astrology might be true, might actually work, and the astrologer might see stuff in my personality that I’m afraid is there!
It is understandable to feel hesitant or afraid when considering a consultation for the first time from an astrologer. However, keep in mind that astrology is not about judgment or criticism. Instead, it is a tool for self-awareness and personal growth.
Also, please remember that astrology is not deterministic, and your astrological chart does not define who you are or what your future holds. Rather, it provides a framework for understanding different aspects of yourself and your life experiences – and can be a powerful tool for personal growth and self-awareness.
While you may find astrology helpful, it shouldn’t be used as a substitute for professional advice.
If you are still feeling hesitant about getting a birth chart reading from an astrologer, it may be helpful to do some research and find an astrologer who resonates with you and whose approach feels compassionate and empowering. You may also want to talk to other people who have had readings and see if their experiences can help alleviate any fears or concerns you may have.
What’s the difference between an astrology reading and a psychic reading?
An astrology reading and a psychic reading are two different types of readings. An astrology reading is based on interpreting a person’s astrological chart, while a psychic reading is based on intuition and psychic abilities. Astrology and psychic readings can be valuable tools for gaining insights and guidance in your life.
Just as with other professions, practicing astrology professionally requires education, technical expertise, and practical experience. A professional astrologer provides accurate readings of a person’s psychic circuitry, according to how it is represented by the astrological symbolism.
A psychic reading, on the other hand, focuses on tapping into a person’s energy and providing insights or guidance – based on intuition, psychic abilities, or spiritual connections. A psychic may use tools such as tarot cards, crystals, or other divination methods to gain insight into a person’s life experiences, past, present, or future.
Why should what happens with the planets have any effect on us down here on Earth? Do the planets really cause things in our lives?
The idea that the planets can have an effect on us here on Earth is based on the concept that all things in the universe are interconnected. According to this idea, everything in the universe is connected and influences everything else, including the movements and positions of the planets.
Astrology is based on the premise that the planets, as they move through the zodiac, create specific energies or frequencies that can affect us here on Earth. Each planet and zodiac sign has its own energy or archetype and when these energies interact with the energies of our own natal chart, it can create specific effects or experiences in our lives.
While it’s not fully understood how or why this works, there is evidence to suggest that the movements of the planets can have an effect on the Earth’s magnetic field and the electromagnetic field that surrounds our bodies. Some researchers have also found correlations between planetary positions and human behavior or events in history, although these correlations are not fully understood and remain controversial.
Does my astrology chart reveal my “fate”? Do I have any choice about what happens to me?
Astrology does not reveal your fate or predetermined future.
Rather, your astrology chart provides a snapshot of the energies and potentialities that were present at the time of your birth, and can provide insights into your personality, strengths and challenges, and life experiences.
While astrology can provide guidance and insights into potential areas of growth and opportunity in your life, it is ultimately up to you to make choices and decisions about how you want to live your life.
Your astrology chart does not dictate your choices or limit your potential, but instead provides a map of the energies and potential available to you.
Which moment is the exact “time of birth” for purposes of casting a chart? And why?
The official “moment of birth” for casting an astrology chart is usually considered to be the moment when the baby takes its first breath. This is because the first breath is seen as the moment when the baby’s life force or prana enters the body and sets the chart into motion.
In some cases, astrologers may also consider the moment when the baby’s head emerges from the mother’s womb as the moment of birth. However, the first breath is generally considered the more important factor in determining the chart.
Why is an accurate time important?
An accurate birth time allows the astrologer to create more precise chart calculations for interpretation and the timing of events.
I was adopted, and no one knows my time of birth. How can I get an accurate astrology reading?
In cases where the exact birth time is unknown or uncertain, there are modern technologies and techniques, such as electronic fetal monitoring which can help to provide a more accurate estimate of the birth time. Astrologers skilled in rectification techniques can estimate the most likely time of birth, based on significant life events and other factors.
